DIAMONDS
Schmitt Jewelers is amongst the 5% of all jewelers, designers, and appraisers who have met the requirements necessary for membership in the American Gem Society.
Because Diamonds are so invaluable, it’s essential for industry professionals to have a universal grading system when comparing diamond quality. Thanks to gemological pioneers, we now have precise criteria for evaluating diamonds, commonly known as the 4Cs - cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. The 4C’s, an objective comparison and evaluation of diamonds, provides a multitude of information about a diamond’s characteristics and value.
Choosing a diamond is a very personal decision. While not everyone will share the same opinion, most people will get more enjoyment for a high-quality diamond than from a low-quality one, regardless of size. Diamond grades and prices are based mostly on rarity factors - the more exceptional the diamond, the higher the price. Large diamonds are more rare than small ones, colorless diamonds are more rare than those with a yellow tint, and flawless diamonds are more rare than those with inclusions.
Put your trust in Schmitt Jewelers, a credentialed member of the American Gem Society, and be assured that you are working with a consummate professional who adheres to the highest standards of ethics and gemological knowledge.
